Welcome

A very warm welcome to our school. We are so pleased you have taken the time to look at our school website.

Our school has been an integral part of the St Mary’s Platt community since 1847, originally established "for the education of the labouring, manufacturing, and other poorer classes in the Chapelry District…for promoting the education of the poor" (Wishart, 'Essays Concerning the History of Platt Primary School', 2015, p. 3). Over the years, the school has been rebuilt twice, with our current, modern building opening in September 2021. The new facilities offer spacious, bright classrooms and expansive grounds, including a dedicated Forest School area.

As a voluntary-aided Church of England school, we take pride in our Christian foundation. Our distinctive vision, inspired by the parable of the mustard seed, sees each child as a seed with the potential to grow and flourish. This vision shapes our rich educational experience and outstanding curriculum, fostering a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and cared for, while achieving academic success.

We are committed to providing the very best education for every child. As headteacher, my role is to ensure that, just as in the parable, we create the right conditions for growth in every lesson and throughout the school day.

You are more than welcome to come and view our school. Please contact the school office where we can arrange an appointment for you office@platt.kent.sch.uk

We look forward to welcoming you and I hope you find our website useful.
